Workplace Transformation Calls For Action

Workplaces were eager in 2022 to create lasting cultural change within their organizations. Nineteen workplaces in total called out to White Ribbon, asking for transformational assistance to address a wide range of equity, inclusion, and gender-based violence prevention issues (e.g., sexual violence, human trafficking, workplace sexual harassment, colonialism, stalking and violence, and discrimination against 2SLGBTQ+ folks).

Adhering to best practices, we worked within organizations to change culture and systems, transform attitudes and behaviours to advance allyship, healthy masculinities, and equity. By responding to the unique workplace needs, we delivered a host of activities:

  • Conducted assessments and updates of policies, protocols, and practices
  • Developed educational materials that unpacked legislative requirements
  • Developed and conducted climate surveys
  • Created educational toolkits
  • Developed training curriculum
  • Held coffee house sessions, webinars, workshops, and public speaks
  • Produced train-the-trainer facilitator guides, interactive exercises, and tip sheets and delivered training to the workplace trainers
  • Implemented campaigns aimed at changing attitudes, behaviours, and social norms
  • Showcased leaders’ commitments to transformation, and
  • Evaluated transformational results.
